Hard Work Pays Off....sometimes

Kenny has been collecting cans for about 5 months. He's been having a few people on our block collect them for him and he goes over to their houses and picks them up. Monday, we took the cans in to see what all his hard work was worth.

$3.62 for 5 months of work?!!! Welcome to the real world Kenny!!! .28 a pound, that's all you get!! The lady said 4 months ago it was .70 a pound. Next time we'll check before we give the cans to them. He bought a lunchable with his hard earned mula.

Now I think I'm doing something

Please enjoy my new playlist! Yall know I'm groovin'! lol My cousin has a playlist on hers, so I copied. Hers looks better though - gotta figure out how to fix mine. Well...Bubba (Myles' nickname that Phil gave him) is a whopping 17lbs! He's such a big boy. Khiani and Kenny are doing well - Khiani was invited to a Future Statesmen convention in Orlando Florida because of her grades. They scout out children who maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher. It's expensive though, so I'm not sure if she'll be going...I really think it'd be great for her though. Well, I'll put more later. Love you all.

Myles' first trip to the movies

We took Khiani to the movies tonight to see TWILIGHT. She loved it!! She has been waiting for this movie to come out for a while. She's read all the ladies books. Every time I looked over at her, she had a big grin on her face. All you could see on her were those braces shinin'. I love it when I'm able to deliver things they get excited about...even if it's small. Grandpa Sonny came with us too. Myles was a great baby during the movie. He grunted a few times, watched the movie for about 30 minutes and then fell asleep for the other hour and a half. He's so sweet!!

Myles in the movie theater with his blanket sleeper and hat on.

Mommy and Daddy's first official date

We went to dinner at the Bonefish Grill. Grandma kept Myles and Kenny...Khiani stayed home. It was nice to be out with Phil again. However...you know I can't get a decent picture of his butt!! Oh well...if he wants to look stupid on the blog, so be it!!

Driving home

With my commute, I get to drive across the water every day and I get to see some beautiful sunsets. I had to pull off and take a picture of this one. I still didn't capture how beautiful it really was...the water looked iridescent.

We're Back!!

Back from the Bahamas - glad to be home!! My Mom came and took good care of the children so that we could go to the Bahamas. The weather was nice during the day, but got a little chilly in the evening. We had a decent time. I'll say that the Bahamas is very expensive (at least where we were). I had a hard time enjoying myself because of how much everything cost. The first afternoon, I had a burger, fries and a coke - 25.00!! Needless to say, I didn't have dinner. lol That night I stayed in my room, read a book, watched tv and before I knew it, they were setting off fireworks that I was able to see from my balcony. The fireworks were awesome!! I forgot my Q-Tips and nail polish remover so I decided to stop in the store downstairs at the hotel....30 Q-Tips = 4.00 and a .69 bottle of Cutex Polish Remover = 7.00....I polished over. lol They add 15% gratuity to everything!! The hotel had 15% gratuity per day on every service imaginable whether you use it or not- pool and beach service, maid service, bellman service, pool usage fees (separate from the pool and beach service). Anyway, the beach was nice, the hotel was nice, Phil's friend Travis brought his wife, so we went sightseeing. I bought a couple of "designer inspired" bags and a few souvenirs. We went to a slavery museum which was sad and cool. I didn't get to do the slides, every time I got ready to, it was too chilly. I did visit the casino a couple of times and won some money (then gave it all back) playing craps. Phil and I had some free time one night so we went to the casino and then went dancing at a club in the hotel. It was nice to be a "wife" again. Anyway...enjoy the pics.

Ferry ride to Downtown Nassau

Downtown Nassau
A real life submarine!!

The hotel - the part that looks like a bridge is actually a suite that goes for 25000.00 a night...Michael Jackson owns it.

Used to be Club Mead

Taking pics of the hotel while on the ferry

They filmed a part from 007 here...never watched the movie.

Our overly animated self proclaimed "tour guide" from the ferry. Of course, he wanted a tip.

Pretty water

Just another part of the hotel - this housed restaurants and the library.

Pretty beach

I ran into Phil working. I was right there the entire wedding and he never knew. Talk about being in the zone!

Shops on the hotel island

Hangin' out
It was windy!

Dolphins - you too can join the dolphins for 30 minutes at 200.00 a pop

Big weekend

This is a huge weekend for us! Phil and I are going to the Bahamas this weekend. I'll be leaving my babies (which I'm sure will be a struggle) with my Mom...she'll be here in 50 minutes. I'm so happy to see her and I know the kids will enjoy having her here. Phil has 3 weddings this weekend!! He's going to be so tired, but I'm going to be relaxing (turn around is fair play). I'll have a drink for him.
I check the weather in the Bahamas today and it looks like there's a hurricane that should hit there about Monday (we leave Tuesday), but it should only be a category 1, so I'm sure we'll be fine, but I guess that means no swimming for me. :-( Well...baby is screaming...gotta go! Pics coming soon.

Happy Halloween!!

We had a block party for Halloween. Myles won 1st place in the costume contest. Khiani was so pretty that night...she was robbed in the contest by a 4 year old Power Ranger. Khiani was a graveyard fairy and Kenny was a retired Jedi with a fat belly. lol He was cute too. Kenny had to make due with his costume from last year since he had been having a hard time doing what he was supposed to do in school. He has since changed schools, so things should be much better. He is now going to Khiani's school and Phil is soooo happy because that cuts his daily driving time from 4 hours to about 45 minutes. I think LLT will be a good place for Kenny. Anyway...enjoy the pictures.

Very creative table and he was a robot of some sort...his belly camera really worked!!
