Back from Denver

My Dad:
My Dad was due to have surgery on 3/17/09. He has 2 torn ligaments and a bad contusion in his neck. He was getting a disc (spell check) removed and replaced with a bone and finally, a spinal fusion. When he went in for surgery on the 17th, we were happy to know that the surgery that was supposed to last 4.5 hours, only lasted 1.5 hours. Our thoughts were that it must have been better than they originally thought. When the doctors came out, they told us that they stopped the surgery (prior to cutting him) because he went into V-Tach (Ventricular tachycardia (V-tach or VT) is a tachycardia, or fast heart rhythm that originates in one of the ventricles of the heart. This is a potentially life-threatening arrhythmia because it may lead to ventricular fibrillation and sudden death.). Knowing that my Dad could have passed, made for a very difficult week. They ran tests on him and let him go home on Saturday. They found that his heart is in better shape than it was 4 years ago, but it's still not healthy. They are going to attempt the surgery again on the 30th (the doctor is out until then and they don't want anyone else to perform the surgery). I won't be going, so I'm very worried about it. Right now, he's dizzy and in a lot of pain because of his neck, and the pain pills don't always work. He's going to have to deal with it until the 30th though. I've been keeping an eye (from afar) on him because he's so stubborn! I think that the near death experience may have scared him a little bit...which is good! He is actually wearing the neck brace that they ordered him to wear. Anyway, I'll keep you updated.

Getting home:
I'll keep this short. Frontier is ghetto!! They oversold the flight home by 20 people!! I ended up getting home Sunday instead of Friday. G-H-E-T-T-O!!! I felt like I was in a ghetto hair salon!
